Infield at start of race

I decided to take race photos in Turn 2. This is a view back through the infield toward Start/Finish and the main grandstands. The clear blue of the desert sky fades down into the dirty brown of the dust that would soon swirl all around me. The weather was very pleasant, about 75 F and breezy. not hot as usual in Phoenix.

Race start

Jack Sprague tries to keep his pole position inside of Rick Crawford.

24 truck spins

A lap later Sprague spins. He didn't hit the wall and got going again. He was in and out of the pits and went a lap down at one point in the race, but he came back through the pack and finished second to Ron Hornaday.
